What should I post on social media?
Social media can be a bit of a mine field for any sex worker. You just never know when something you post might blow up in your face, and get your account deleted. So, here are some tips on what to post to keep your account flying under the adult content radar.
Findomme standard photos
There are some pics that all findommes post, and joining in isn’t a bad thing.
Pics of yourself. Working on your makeup look? Snap a pic and post it. Snuggling with your fur babies? Snap a pic and post it. Trying on some new fits? Snap a pic of each one, and post them. Not every photo you post has to be staged. I shoot about half my photos sitting in the comfy chair in my living room. Some days, I even manage to put on some lipstick and a top that shows a bit of cleavage.
Pics of you out and about. Hiking? Out to dinner? On your morning walk? Brunch with the girls? Take pics of yourself living your life. Shoot carefully, so you don’t include anyone who isn’t willing to be seen on a NSFW account. Blur apps are good for obscuring your friends’ faces.
The L and the bird. Every domme, at some point, posts pics holding her hand in the L shape, or flipping the bird. Reserve these for days when the losers are getting on your nerves. Posting a little bad attitude can be very cathartic.
Feet pics. Just kick off your shoes, and cross your ankles. Some subs just love photos and videos of feet. And again, these don’t have to be staged. I regularly see quick video clips of a domme peeling off her athletic socks after working out.
It’s all about the money
Since your goal is to get paid, some of your posts should be about money.
Reimbursement opportunities. Every time you go shopping, keep your receipts. Post photos of them, with the location and card number artfully hidden, and ask for subs to reimburse you.
Adding to your wishlists. If you add something to your Wishtender or Throne wishlists, post about it. Use a pic of the item if you can. Encourage subs to clear your list.
Bills. Is the rent due? Post the amount, and ask for it to be covered. Want a month of a premium streaming service? Or a year of it? Post that. Talk about which shows you want to watch. In a sea of dommes saying “give me money”, you saying “cover the cost of this service so I can watch your favorite show” might set you apart.
Extravagances. Out to a nice dinner or drinks? Post a pic, or a pic of each course, or each drink, and keep adding onto what you want covered. Ordering in? Screenshot your order receipt, and ask for it to be covered. Post another pic of the food when it arrives. Planning a wedding? Ask for a sub to cover the floral bill. Going to a friend’s wedding? Post your dress choices, and have subs cover the one you choose.
Posts about other sites. If you’re doing a live on LF, or a Space on Twitter, be sure to post about it on all your social sites. Let people know where you’ll be online at a specific time, especially if where you’ll be is a money-making opportunity.
Teases
You’ll see a lot of dommes use pixelated or blurred images, to tease content subs aren’t allowed to see. There are tons of apps that do one or both. Play with photo apps, to see which ones you like. Blur or pixelate your face, or your cleavage, or your toes, and come up with a “you’ll never see this” type of message. This is particularly handy for those who do other types of content, and want to tease it on social media sites that don’t allow adult content.
Along the “you’ll never see this” line, if you buy lingerie, spread it out on the bed and snap a pic. You never have to post yourself wearing it if you don’t do that sort of thing.
For those of you coupled up, there’s a whole genre of “my man bought me this” or “my woman did this for me” posts. Brag away about your boo, and tell potential subs what they’ll never have.
Text posts
Not every post has to be a photo or video. I like to do text posts that encourage other dommes to quote tweet on Twitter. Two truths and a lie; five things about me; three subs I’d like in my roster. Have some fun coming up with ideas for lists that other dommes can quote and answer themselves.
NGL is an app that allows anyone to leave you an anonymous message. Answering those, or sending yourself a question to answer, can fill in on days when you really have nothing to post.
Tools I use
I’m on an Android phone and a Chromebook laptop, shooting in a tiny apartment. These are some of the tools I use to make photos and videos:
YouCut Video Editor - I use this to edit videos, cut down videos from LF lives into clips, splice video pieces together. So far, I haven’t needed to upgrade to the paid version. Also: they don’t add their watermark to my videos.
Canva - A photo editor with plenty of features. After using PhotoShop on a desktop for decades, it’s a joy to work on a nice, lightweight, relatively simple app. Again, I haven’t needed to upgrade to the paid version.
GIF Maker GIF Editor - I use this .GIF maker to turn short video clips into animated .GIFs, because while Reddit doesn’t allow adult content creators to upload videos, we can use .GIFs. Free version, and it doesn’t add their watermark.
TikTok - I often shoot photos and videos on TikTok, for the large array of filters available. Save as drafts rather than publishing, so you can download them to your phone without the TikTok branding.
I also have a cheap ring light, which I use as fill for videos, because my apartment has two rooms with excellent natural light. I bought one with a clicker that connects to my camera via Bluetooth, so I can go hands-free, and just artfully hide the little clicker behind one hand.
